I don't watch much reality TV, but one show I have to watch is American Idol. I've always considered myself foremost a musician. Anything else I do is secondary. I'm not saying I'm good at it, but I love music. The majority of performances on the show are not all that great, but it's worth watching for those few shining moments. This year should be good. I think there are at least 5 or 6 singers who can really sing with emotion. I think Katherine McPhee has the best voice by far. Taylor Hicks blows a mean harmonica and sings with a lot of soul. This is my prediction for top 12 this year:

Let's see how it shakes out.

Update: 2/24/2006: Ok, after seeing them all one more time I'm changing my predictions. Several singers didn't sound as good the second time, and some sounded better this time. The top 4 are still the same.
