Top MX Extensions Announced

Macromedia has announced the finalists and winners of its Dreamweaver MX extension contest; and 4 of the 5 are from The Dreamweaver Team.

Massimo Foti is the proud winner with his Cold Fusion XHTML Editor. The CF XHTML Editor consists of a set of extensions for Dreamweaver MX for use in a CMS (Content Management System), centered around a custom ColdFusion tag. The Editor displays in the browser as a graphical interface for typing, pasting, and "styling" text, much like a very basic word processor.

Next is Jaro von Flocken with his updated Check Form behavior, a must for any one accepting input from users. Check Form offers much more than the native DW behavior. It can validate almost all types of form elements like Menus, Lists, Textfields, Password fields, hidden Fields, Checkboxes and Radio buttons.

With DMX Tidy Daniele Ugoletti and Paul R. Boon demonstrate how Dreamweaver's API can be used effectively to reduce the time and costs of a site development.

And Tom Muck was also nominated for his Get Data Sources extension. This Data Source extension will search your site for any Session (or Application) variable definitions and add those variables to the Bindings panel automatically. If you have a large site using several Session (or Application) variables, this can be a huge time saver.
